We are thrilled to introduce the new Citrus Grove Elementary School crest. This symbol embodies our dedication to educational excellence and our home in Western Palm City. In addition to being academically prepared for their future, Diamondbacks will explore agriculture and community/career connections through a Career and Technical Education (CTE) lens. In the coming school year, you will see how our crest comes to life through the daily experiences of our students and the ongoing growth of our school. Something extra special is happening this week!
The CGE Media Center rewards students for reading in many ways, but the toughest to get is the G.O.A.T. Award. GOATs are our greatest-of-all-time MCSDReads point-getters for each quarter. Each grade can only have one per marking period and 17 students have earned the award this year, including 7 students who earned it more than once!
Newfield Farm, Mattamy Homes, and Harmony Hope Stables found out about our GOATS and wanted to reward them with a visit with THEIR goats. These lucky students were invited to Walk with Goats this week at KC Trails, the conservation area thatβs part of Newfield in Palm City. "The buzz in the library when this event was announced was amazing," Mrs. Windsor shared. "These students LOVE reading and it's wonderful to acknowledge their passion in this unique way."
Congratulations to these Diamondbacks, our most voracious readers! We will share pictures of the event later this week on our Facebook page.

πCELEBRATING EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCEπ
We are very proud to announce that more than 150 students in the Martin County School District earned a perfect score on their state assessments for the 2022-2023 school year!
Students were celebrated for this outstanding achievement during the Perfect Score Awards Ceremony last Monday.
Fewer than 1% of students in the state earned a perfect score. The climb to #1 continues through our studentsβ PERFECT mastery of their course content!

πCELEBRATING PRINCIPALSπ
On this special day, we recognize the amazing contributions of our school principals. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our students, staff, and school community. Your leadership inspires greatness every day!

We have a special shout-out for a former student today. Austin Marks, or Mr. Austin to students, will soon graduate from Martin County High School. He returned to CGE this year as our S3 Student Technician, a paid internship position with MCSD. He troubleshoots technology problems at our school, and with an enrollment of over 600 students with 1:1 devices plus 200 desktops and 60 interactive instructor panels, that is a big job! He also assists in the library each morning, helping students choose and check out books.
Austin will attend the University of Florida in the fall and study Computer Science. Hopefully, he will continue his artistic talents, too - we don't want the skills that helped him earn the Award of Excellence in Art and Design to get rusty! You will be missed, Austin! Best of luck to you and keep in touch.

We had a very special announcement at our spirit rally today. The Citrus Grove representative for the 24-25 Teacher of the Year is⦠Mrs. Molina-Council! The award, which is chosen by staff vote, was presented with her family in attendance as a surprise.
Mrs. Molina-Council is a 4th grade teacher who heads numerous clubs on campus. Her Diamondback roots are strong: having started as a paraprofessional, becoming a support teacher then classroom educator, and as a parent to her son and daughter, both CGE alumni. Her infectious smile and talented teaching skills have won the hearts of our school family. We look forward to celebrating this well-deserved honor with her!

πCELEBRATING MATHLETESπ
This past weekend, all Martin County School District-operated elementary schools participated in the 2nd Annual MCSD 5th Grade Math Olympics!
The arena: Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School. The events: individual and team rounds in problem-solving, critical thinking, and speed math. Every team was shooting for gold, but after the calculations were tallied, the Crystal Lake Elementary School Hawks won the gold, earning the title of District Champion.
The Jensen Beach Elementary School Vikings took home silver and the J.D. Parker Elementary School Rockets got the bronze.
Congratulations to all our outstanding mathletes and their coaches!

The Character Counts focus for the month of April is gratitude. Gratitude is being thankful and sharing it with others. Andres was nominated by Mrs. Miller because he is always appreciative of everything he is given! He does not take anything for granted.
Ms. Montessi is our teacher winner. Ms. Montessi works diligently with all her students to ensure they are showing growth. She is a great advocate for all students and we are so thankful for her.
Shout out to our community sponsors: Melissa Stallings of Re/Max Stuart for donating Character Counts t-shirts, and Jeremiah's Italian Ice for donating the teacher gift card prize!
