📚 FOR THE LOVE OF READING 📚 Students at Citrus Grove Elementary School were buzzing with excitement as they showed off their book vending machine to WPTV’s Tania Rogers! Instead of snacks, this special machine dispenses knowledge—one book at a time! Through the For the Love of Reading program, students earn tokens to select books, fostering a love for reading in a fun and engaging way. 🥧 HAPPY PI DAY 🥧 March 14 (3/14) is all about celebrating π (pi) — the never-ending number that helps us measure circles and unlock the wonders of math! Did you know pi has been calculated to over 62 trillion digits? 🤯 Talk about a number that never quits! Across our schools today, students will embrace the fun of Pi Day with exciting activities, from memorizing digits of pi to hands-on math challenges.

Hundreds of our fifth graders put their creativity to work in the 7th Annual Kids Tag Art contest, sponsored by Martin County Tax Collector, Ruth Pietruszewski. Using both artistic and critical thinking skills, students designed unique tags that families and community members can purchase as license plates, key fobs, or bike plates. Congratulations to CGE’s three Martin County Tag Art winners! 🎉 Paige Ellis’s fox with a butterfly 🦋 earned the Award of Distinction 🏆, Tanner Hoffman's law enforcement theme took home the Behind the Badge Award 👮, and Zoe Fisher’s manatee design 🐋 won the CGE Principal's Award 🌟. Each year, 5th graders join this Martin County Tax Collector’s contest, and their designs become vanity plates with all proceeds supporting district elementary art classrooms.
