Adventure in Action
Our Anderson Middle School 6th-grade scientists spent the day exploring the Environmental Study Center at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, and they dove into discovery from the moment they arrived! Students learned how Florida’s ecosystems work together, studied natural water systems, and even collected samples to examine under microscopes. From spotting native plants and wildlife to observing tiny aquatic organisms up close, they got a real taste of what it’s like to be environmental scientists. They hiked, asked big questions, made exciting observations, and filled the day with curiosity and teamwork. A huge thank‑you to the incredible staff at the Environmental Study Center for bringing science to life in such an unforgettable way.
Check out the photos to see our future scientists in action. Muddy shoes, bright smiles, and plenty of hands‑on learning!

Middle schoolers ask it all the time, and this week, they're getting their answer.
Through the Education Foundation of Martin County's Re-Engineering Algebra program, students across the District are learning how algebra shows up in real life. Civil engineer Mr. Love brought math off the page and into the real world, demonstrating how it’s used to design roads and calculate traffic patterns.
These hands-on lessons connect classroom learning to real careers, helping students see how math opens doors to future opportunities. And yes...they learn that algebra can be a useful, lifelong skill. 😆
