The school year may have wrapped up, but we have one more student recognition from our May School Board meeting to share!
After securing the top two team spots at the Treasure Coast Regional MATHCOUNTS competition, students from Hidden Oaks Middle School and Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School advanced to the Florida State MATHCOUNTS Tournament—competing among the best in the state and showcasing exceptional mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
Congratulations to both teams and their coaches for representing our District with excellence in math! A strong finish to an outstanding year. 💪

Today, we pause to celebrate three incredible educators whose dedication, passion, and love for students have left a lasting impact on our Shark family. Together, they have given an amazing 97 years of service to education, what an inspiring legacy!

Each of these outstanding individuals has shaped the lives of countless students, supported colleagues, and strengthened the culture that makes Hidden Oaks such a special place. Their commitment goes far beyond the classroom, it lives on in the relationships they built, the lessons they taught, and the memories they helped create.
While we will deeply miss their presence on campus, we are so grateful for the years they poured into our school community. Their fingerprints will forever be a part of Hidden Oaks Middle School.

Tonight at the Martin County School Board, it was truly a night of celebration as so many of our Hidden Oaks shark scholars were recognized for their incredible accomplishments!
From our Odyssey of the Mind team to our MathCounts competitors, Science Fair participants, and Academic Games scholars, HOMS was proudly represented across the board. Each of these groups has contributed to an unbelievable year of success through their dedication, teamwork, and passion for learning.

🔬✨ Science + Chocolate = A Sweet Experiment! 🍬🔦
Mrs. Smith’s 7th grade science class had a colorful day exploring reflection and absorption in a hands-on (and tasty!) way! Using colored flashlights and sorting M&M’s, our scholars investigated how light interacts with different colors—seeing firsthand which colors reflect light and which absorb it.
The best part? Learning felt like play, and curiosity was shining bright in the classroom! 💡
At HOMS, we love seeing our scholars dive into science with creativity, collaboration, and a little bit of fun along the way.

Learning in Action in Downtown Stuart! 🦈🌴
Today, Mrs. Stebbing and her sixth-grade Shark scholars took their learning beyond the classroom and into the heart of downtown Stuart! 📍
Our students had the incredible opportunity to bring their education to life with a visit to the historic Lyric Theatre—experiencing firsthand the rich history and culture of our community. Instead of just reading about it, they lived it! 🎭✨
