🏅CELEBRATING LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE🏅 Congratulations to the Martin County High School Air Force JROTC cadets and instructors on being selected for the 2024–2025 AFJROTC Distinguished Unit Award! This national recognition honors programs that go above and beyond in service, leadership, and character development—and the Tigers did just that. With a 93% score on the Regional Director’s annual assessment and cadets logging an average of 16+ community service hours, the unit truly stood out. Special shoutout to Cadet Kai Lawrence for leading the way with 61.62 hours of service! The Tigers were led by Katelyn Hardy, Fall 2024 Cadet Commander, and Santiago Pacheco, Spring 2025 Cadet Commander. A big congratulations also goes to instructors Sgt. Scott Chamberlain and Lt. Col. 🌟CELEBRATING NEW LEADERSHIP🌟 Exciting news at Hobe Sound Elementary School—Ms. Stephanie DeVoe has been chosen to serve as the next Assistant Principal, pending school board approval! Ms. DeVoe has been a dedicated member of the Eagle family for over 15 years, serving in roles such as Science Coach, STEM Coordinator, and 5th Grade Lead Teacher. Most recently, she served as a Science Interventionist, helping the school achieve the #1 ranking among Title I schools in science proficiency. Competing against some of the top students in the country, Landon earned multiple top-three finishes in individual rounds, including a memorable tie with last year’s Equations champion, whom he went on to knock out of the playoffs! 🏆 Landon is already planning to form a high school team this fall and continue his Academic Games journey. "After graduation, I’ll be attending Indian River State College for two years, majoring in Pre-Surgical Services on the Health Science track," Ric'Kyia continued. 🧃☀️FREE SUMMER MEALS FOR STUDENTS🧃☀️ School may be out, but nutritious meals are still in! The Martin County School District will be serving free breakfast and lunch for all children 18 and under at select school sites starting Monday, June 2, 2025, with no income restrictions. Meal service dates and times will vary by location. Children must remain on location while they are eating their meals. Our Summer Feeding Bus is back as well! 🔬INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE STARS🔬 Two Martin County High School students represented our community on the world stage at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Columbus, Ohio — the largest international STEM research competition for high school students! ⭐️ Isabella Calhoun was named a State Finalist and attended with all expenses paid. Her project: “The Role of Hormones in Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.” ⭐️ Nina Goyal was honored as a Martin County Finalist for her project: “Bioenhancers and AgriShield for Pest Management.” More than 1,600 students from more than 30 countries shared over 1,300 innovative projects during ISEF’s 75th anniversary.
