🍽NOURISHING ALL STUDENTS FOR SUCCESS🍽 No school? No problem! Our Food & Nutrition Services Department continues to offer free meals to ALL children aged 18 and under during the summer months with no income restrictions. Breakfasts and lunches are now being served at a few locations, but more sites will be available starting June 3. Our Summer Feeding Bus is back on the road this year! Students were celebrated for this outstanding achievement during the Perfect Score Awards Ceremony last Monday. Fewer than 1% of students in the state earned a perfect score. This happens when the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun, momentarily casting a shadow and blocking the sun's light. Martin County will not experience a "totality" like other parts of the country and can expect to see approximately 51% coverage of the sun. Happy 3.141592654.... Day--also known as Pi Day! 🥧 To celebrate the wonders of this mathematical number, we are highlighting the circle-shaped foods students at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School recently cooked up! Whether it's a round waffle or pizza, you can figure out the circumference by multiplying the radius by 2, then multiply the result by pi. These students are enrolled in the Fundamentals of Culinary Careers at AMS. All five middle schools have an Education Foundation of Martin County Career Exploration Lab or Career and Technical Education programs like this where students get hands-on learning in different industries.
