Public Hearing for Comment on Social Studies Instructional Materials Recommended for Adoption

Pursuant to Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, the Martin County School Board is holding this public hearing to consider input from parents and community members regarding the instructional materials selected for the social studies adoption.  The purpose of this hearing is to give parents and community members the opportunity to contribute their input to the selection of instructional materials in the current adoption cycle in accordance with the legislative and State Board of Education Regulations.

The Board was noticed of the intent to proceed with the adoption of social studies materials at the January 17, 2023 meeting and will vote to approve the Instructional Materials Review Committee recommendations at the March 21, 2023 meeting.  The required 30 day window for public objection will be open from March 22-April 20, 2023.

Prior to public objection, the materials may be accessed and reviewed using the following link:  MCSD K-12 Social Studies Adoption Public Review Instructional Materials. The timeframe for this review will run through the close of business on February, 16th 2023.  Individuals may share their feedback at a Public Hearing during the regularly scheduled Martin County School Board Meeting which will take place on Tuesday, February 21st.  Thank you.
